Indonesia's Exports to Cape Verde Decreased, but Imports Increased in 2020

Indonesia's trade balance with Cape Verde showed a surplus of US$0.52 million in 2020. However, this surplus decreased by 28.79% compared to the previous year's US$0.73 million.

The decline in Indonesia's trade balance with Cape Verde was due to Indonesian exports to Cape Verde reaching only US$0.57 million, while imports amounted to US$57,000.

The three main products imported from Cape Verde were: Machinery, mechanical appliances, nuclear reactors, boilers; parts thereof (HS 84); Impregnated, coated, covered or laminated textile fabrics; Textile articles (HS 59); and Knitted or crocheted fabrics (HS 60).

Indonesia's exports to Cape Verde have been declining over the past year. The previous year's export value was US$0.75 million.

Ten main export products contributed to a surplus in 2020, totaling US$0.57 million.

Globally, the trade balance for all goods improved due to increases in several product categories. Indonesia's total trade balance was recorded at US$21.68 billion, a 703.56% increase. In other words, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus. The previous year's trade balance with all countries worldwide was recorded at US$-3.59 billion.
