November 2018 Export Value Down 7% from the Previous Month

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released data showing that Indonesia's November 2018 non-oil and gas exports decreased by 6.69% to US$14.83 billion compared to the previous month, and also decreased by 3.28% compared to November of the previous year. However, the value of exports for the January-November period increased by 7.69% to US$165.81 billion.

Meanwhile, the value of imports in November decreased by 4.47% to US$16.88 billion compared to the previous month, but increased by 11.68% year-on-year. For the January-November period, Indonesian imports grew by 22.16% to US$173.32 billion.

China remains the main destination for Indonesian exports and a major source of imports. In November 2018, Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to China reached US$2.014 billion, and cumulatively from January to November reached US$22.7 billion, representing 15% of the total non-oil and gas exports. Meanwhile, imports from China in November reached US$4.21 billion, and cumulatively from January to November 2018 reached US$40.86 billion, accounting for 28.07% of total imports.
