China Contributed the Highest Non-Oil and Gas Trade Deficit in July 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade balance with China showed the largest deficit compared to other countries, reaching US$844.5 million in July 2021.

This was due to Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to China only reaching US$3.6 billion last month, while non-oil and gas imports from the country amounted to US$4.4 billion.

Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade balance with Australia also experienced a deficit of US$44.8 million in July 2021. This is because Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Australia were US$246.4 million, while imports reached US$694.4 million.

The deficit in Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade balance with Thailand was recorded at US$271.2 million last month. This occurred because Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports to Thailand amounted to US$421.2 million, while imports reached US$692.3 million.

Nevertheless, Indonesia's total non-oil and gas trade balance still showed a surplus of US$3.4 billion. This figure increased by 41.6% compared to June 2020, which was US$2.4 billion.

On the other hand, Indonesia's oil and gas trade balance experienced a deficit of US$794.8 million in July 2021. However, this deficit was 25.4% lower than the previous month, which reached US$1.1 billion.
