Furniture is one of Indonesia's creative industries' most popular products, known and appreciated worldwide.
According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's furniture exports reached US$2.81 billion, or Rp43.7 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,92 per US$), in 2022. This figure represents a 2.72% decrease from the previous year.
Indonesia's furniture export value reached its peak in the last five years at US$2.88 billion in 2021.
The United States (US) is the main destination for Indonesian furniture exports, with the highest value at US$1.67 billion. This accounts for 59.6% of the total export value in 2022.
Other major export destinations for Indonesian furniture include Japan (US$161.95 million, 5.77%), the Netherlands (US$105.78 million, 3.77%), Belgium (US$90.4 million, 3.22%), and Germany (US$88.17 million, 3.14%).
Following these are Australia (US$85.5 million, 3.05%), France (US$63.49 million, 2.26%), the United Kingdom (US$58.44 million, 2.08%), Malaysia (US$42.41 million, 1.51%), Spain (US$39.81 million, 1.42%), and other countries totaling US$398.37 million (14.19%).
Central Java is the leading contributor to the country's foreign exchange earnings from furniture exports, reaching US$918.78 million. This is followed by East Java with US$784.5 million, West Java with US$672 million, Banten and DKI Jakarta with US$151.71 million and US$83.66 million respectively.

* Other furniture - US$400.96 million
* Metal furniture - US$192.14 million
* Rattan or bamboo furniture - US$186.80 million
* Plastic furniture - US$76.33 million
