Indonesia's Tin Exports Increase by 11% During January-July 2022

Rising global demand for tin has fueled Indonesia's tin exports this year.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's export volume grew by 11.11% to 42,570 tons during the January-July 2022 period compared to the same period last year (cumulative to cumulative/c-to-c).

Similarly, the export value also surged by 45.85% to US$1.59 billion, or approximately Rp23.8 trillion (using an exchange rate of Rp15,000 per US dollar) during the January-July 2022 period (c-to-c).

China is the main destination for Indonesian tin exports, with a volume of 13,010 tons in the first seven months of this year. This volume surged by 1,634.18% from the first seven months of last year.

The value also jumped by 2,511% to US$521.96 million during the January-July 2022 period compared to the same period last year.

The next main destination for tin exports is Singapore, with a volume of 7,060 tons worth US$248.91 million in the first seven months of this year. This is followed by India, which imported 4,920 tons of tin worth US$174.88 million.
