China was the largest importer of Indonesian tin in November 2023.

Data from Indonesia's Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) shows that Indonesia's tin exports reached 68.97 million kilograms (kg) from January to November 2023.

This volume decreased by 11.56% year-on-year (yoy) from 77.99 million kg in the same period of 2022.

The decline in shipment weight resulted in a 25.25% decrease in export value, from US$2.38 billion in 2022 to US$1.78 billion in 2023.

There were at least 10 main export destinations or largest buyers of Indonesian tin in January-November 2023.

China ranked first with a volume of 25.09 million kg as of November 2023. This volume increased by 5.38% from the previous shipment of 23.81 million kg in November 2022.

Despite the increase in weight, the falling tin price affected the export value to China. It reached US$648.32 million in November 2023, down 15.19% (yoy) from US$764.39 million previously.

Second was Singapore with a volume of 10.77 million kg at the end of November 2023. The volume decreased by 22.12% (yoy) from 13.83 million kg previously.

Third was India, with 10.46 million kg in November 2023. The volume increased slightly by 4.66% (yoy) from 10 million kg previously.

Fourth was South Korea with 5.08 million kg, down 32.81% (yoy), and fifth was Japan with 3.81 million kg, also down 39.11% (yoy).

The remaining countries include the Netherlands, Taiwan, Thailand, Belgium, and Italy.
