According to a report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia recorded a trade balance surplus of US$3.32 billion in March 2026.

In March 2026, Indonesia's trade balance was supported by the non-oil sector, which recorded a surplus of US$5.21 billion. The contributing commodities included animal/vegetable fats and oils; mineral fuels; and iron and steel.

However, this non-oil surplus was offset by a trade deficit in oil of US$1.89 billion. This deficit was driven by oil products and crude oil.

Cumulatively, during January-March 2026, the oil sector experienced a deficit of US$5.08 billion, while the non-oil sector recorded a surplus of US$10.63 billion. Thus, as of the third month of this year, Indonesia's trade balance showed a surplus of US$5.55 billion.
