Indonesia's Import Value Slightly Strengthened by 2.62% by the End of Q3 2025

Indonesia's total import value during January-September 2025 reached US$176.32 billion, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This figure increased by 2.62% compared to the cumulative value of the same period last year (cumulative-to-cumulative/ctc).

BPS explained that the non-oil and gas sector contributed the most to the total import value, reaching US$152.58 billion, an increase of 5.17% (ctc).

Meanwhile, the value of oil and gas imports was US$23.75 billion, plummeting by 11.21% (ctc). This value consisted of US$16.99 billion in oil product imports and US$6.76 billion in crude oil imports.

BPS stated that crude oil imports experienced the deepest decline, down 12.70% (ctc), while oil product imports plunged by 10.60% (ctc).

According to BPS, during January-September 2025, the import value of capital goods increased by 19.13% (ctc) to US$35.90 billion.

Meanwhile, imports of raw/auxiliary materials decreased by 0.74% (ctc) to US$124.40 billion, and imports of consumer goods decreased by 2.06% (ctc) to US$16.02 billion.

“Of the 10 main non-oil and gas commodity groups from January-September 2025, the machinery/electrical equipment and parts group experienced the highest increase, valued at US$2.65 billion (13.19% [ctc]),” BPS stated in its report.

“Meanwhile, the iron and steel group experienced the largest decrease, valued at US$0.88 billion (11.31% [ctc]),” it added.
