These are Indonesia's Clove Export Destination Countries until July 2025

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that Indonesia exported cloves weighing 25,928.54 tons from January to July 2025.

During this period, India was the main destination country for Indonesian clove exports. Its volume reached 7.32 thousand tons, equivalent to 28% of the total national exports.

Below is the complete list of the top 10 destination countries for Indonesian clove exports by volume in the first semester of 2025:

• India: 7,324.03 tons

• China: 6,924.54 tons

• United Arab Emirates/UAE: 1,659.54 tons

• Pakistan: 1,241.3 tons

• Saudi Arabia: 1,069.98 tons

• Nigeria: 850.59 tons

• Vietnam: 696.09 tons

• United States: 534.11 tons

• Chile: 120.57 tons

• United Kingdom: 31.38 tons

In addition, Indonesia also exported cloves to other countries with a combined volume of 5.47 thousand tons.

Alleged Radioactive Contamination in Indonesian Cloves

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) found contamination of radioactive Cesium-137 (Cs-137) in cloves shipped from Indonesia.

The cloves were imported by PT Natural Java Spice, and the FDA placed spice products from this company on an import alert for chemical contamination.

"Products from PT Bahari Makmur Sejati and from PT Natural Java Spice will not be allowed to enter the U.S. market until these companies provide information to the FDA to adequately demonstrate that they have addressed the conditions that led to the violation," the FDA wrote in its statement.

Previously, the FDA stated that it had detected Cesium-137 in one sample of frozen shrimp imported from Indonesia. The shrimp was imported by PT Bahari Makmur Sejati.
