According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia imported 780,580 tons of fruit in 2024.

This volume grew by 13% year-on-year (YoY) compared to 2023 and is the highest record in the last eight years, as shown in the graph.

In 2024, China was the largest supplier of fruit to Indonesia, with a volume of 540,350 tons or 69% of total national imports.

It was followed by Thailand, which sent 61,190 tons; Australia, 43,350 tons; Egypt, 24,620 tons; and the United States, 17,620 tons.

Meanwhile, Minister of Law and Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas has now rejected the consumption of imported fruit in his ministry, as a form of support for local products.

"Starting today, I request that in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, in the Secretariat, there should be no imported fruit products in this office," said Supratman, as reported by Kumparan.com, Monday (September 15, 2025).
