Indonesia's Top 10 Non-Oil and Gas Import Values, First Semester 2025

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), Indonesia's imports in the first half of 2025 reached US$115.94 billion, a 5.25% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Of this amount, non-oil and gas imports dominated, reaching US$100.07 billion, while oil and gas imports amounted to US$15.86 billion.

The following are the import values of the top 10 major non-oil and gas commodity groups in Indonesia during the first half of 2025:

1. Mechanical machinery and parts: US$17.09 billion
2. Electrical machinery and parts: US$14.53 billion
3. Vehicles and parts: US$5.35 billion
4. Plastics and plastic goods: US$5.08 billion
5. Iron and steel: US$4.75 billion
6. Organic chemicals: US$3.28 billion
7. Various chemical products: US$2.28 billion
8. Optical, photographic, cinematographic, and medical instruments: US$2.23 billion
9. Iron and steel goods: US$2.14 billion
10. Mineral fuels: US$2.05 billion

According to BPS, of the top 10 major non-oil and gas import commodity groups from January to June 2025, 7 groups experienced an increase compared to the same period the previous year:

1. Various chemical products: 35.64%
2. Vehicles and parts: 31.29%
3. Optical, photographic, cinematographic, and medical instruments: 11.31%
4. Electrical machinery and parts: 9.40%
5. Mechanical machinery and parts: 8.11%
6. Iron and steel goods: 7.93%
7. Plastics and plastic goods: 2.71%

Meanwhile, 3 groups experienced a decrease, including:

1. Organic chemicals: 8.37%
2. Iron and steel: 7.43%
3. Mineral fuels: 3.94%
