Import tariffs from the United States (US) on several countries, including ASEAN countries, have changed after lengthy negotiations.
Indonesia is subject to a 19% tariff effective today, Thursday (7/8/2025). This tariff is a decrease from the 32% tariff in April 2025.
However, this tariff reduction does not make Indonesia special. This tariff rate also applies to Malaysia, Cambodia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
Singapore, meanwhile, is still subject to the old tariff of 10%. This percentage is the lowest among ASEAN and even Asia.
However, a report by The Straits Times notes that some issues still require further clarification. This means there is still a possibility of changes to these tariffs.
The highest tariffs in the ASEAN group are imposed on Laos and Myanmar, at 40% each.
The following is an updated list of US import tariffs on its ASEAN trading partners, compiled from Katadata, The White House, and The Straits Times:
1. Laos: 40%
2. Myanmar: 40%
3. Brunei Darussalam: 25%

6. Malaysia: 19%
