The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has compiled a list of the largest importers of iron and steel to Indonesia in 2023.

China ranked first, with shipments totaling 3.71 million tons, the largest volume since 2017. The import value amounted to US$3.09 billion in 2023.

Japan was second, with 2.39 million tons, and an import value of US$2.39 billion.

South Korea was third, with a volume of 906,400 tons and a value of US$1.02 billion.

The value of iron and steel imports in 2023 reached US$11.38 billion.
