NTT Exports in August 2021 Increased by 40.5%, Reaching a Total of US$1.75 Million

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that total exports from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) reached US$1.75 million in August 2021. This figure represents a 40.5% increase from the previous month's US$1.25 million. Compared to the same period the previous year, NTT's exports increased by 12.8%.

In August 2021, the majority of NTT's exports were sent to Timor Leste, amounting to US$1.7 million or 47.9% of NTT's total exports. India was the second largest export destination, with a value of US$954,700 or 26.47% of total exports.

Vietnam was the next largest export destination for NTT, reaching US$475,020 or 13.17% of total exports. Other export destinations accounted for less than 3% each.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan), NTT's main export commodities include teak wood, soybeans, seaweed, and broiler DOCs. Teak wood from NTT is highly sought after in the international market due to its strength and durability.

NTT's imports in August 2021 totaled US$2.47 million. This figure represents an 83.79% decrease from the previous month's US$15.26 million. Compared to the same period last year, NTT's imports in August 2021 increased by 1,627.9%.
