Indomaret achieved the highest consumer value among retailers in the 2021 Retail Rankings by YouGov, scoring 42.9 points. This retail company, owned by conglomerate Anthoni Salim, topped the list.
Alfamart, Indomaret's direct competitor, ranked second with a score of 37.5 points. Gramedia, a bookstore and stationery retailer, came in third with 27.4 points.
Transmart Carrefour, operating in the hypermarket sector, ranked fourth with 23.5 points. ACE Hardware, a home improvement retailer, secured fifth place with a score of 20.1 points.
Hypermart, IKEA, and Matahari all scored equally at 19.5 points. Superindo ranked ninth with 18.8 points. Alfamidi completed the list with a score of 17.9 points.
The 2021 Retail Rankings reflect Indonesian consumers' brand preferences over a 12-month period. The rankings are calculated based on the YouGov Brand Index, which assesses the impression, quality, value, satisfaction, and recommendations respondents gave to each brand.
These rankings represent the highest average score for each criterion, calculated from September 1, 2020, to August 31, 2021. The survey represents the general population of adults over 18 years old.
