East Java Exports Increased by 16.07% in November 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that East Java's exports reached US$2.18 billion in November 2021. This figure represents a 16.07% increase compared to the previous month, which stood at US$1.88 billion.

This increase was driven by a surplus in export performance in both the oil and gas and non-oil and gas sectors. Oil and gas exports in November 2021 reached US$117.55 million, a 32.72% increase compared to October 2021, which amounted to US$88.57 million.

Furthermore, non-oil and gas exports in November 2021 reached US$2.06 billion, a 15.25% increase compared to October 2021, which amounted to US$1.79 billion.

Compared to the same period last year, East Java's export value increased by 35.25%. In November 2020, East Java's export value was recorded at US$1.6 billion.

The increase in East Java's exports compared to last year is partly due to the increase in the non-oil and gas sector. The value of non-oil and gas exports in East Java in November 2021 increased by 43.29% year-on-year. However, the value of oil and gas exports decreased by 31.83% year-on-year.

Oil and gas exports contributed 5.39% to the total exports of East Java in November 2021. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas exports contributed 94.61% of the total exports in the province last month.
