Tobacco processing industry exports fell 3.87% during the January-November 2021 period.

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the value of national processed tobacco exports decreased by 3.87% to US$ 953.78 million during January-November 2021. In the same period of the previous year, the value of tobacco exports reached US$ 992.19 million.

Specifically, the value of kretek (clove cigarette) exports reached US$ 681.35 million during January-November of last year. This figure is down 2.98% compared to the same period of the previous year, representing 71.44% of total processed tobacco exports.

Next, the value of processed tobacco exports reached US$ 192.51 million during January-November 2021. This value decreased by 6.98% compared to the same period in 2020, representing 20.18% of the total.

Exports of cigarettes and other cigars amounted to US$ 79.93 million during January-November 2021. This figure also decreased by 3.71% compared to the same period of the previous year, representing only 8.38% of the total.

Singapore was the largest market share for national processed tobacco exports, reaching US$ 36.13 million (18.77%). Meanwhile, Cambodia was the largest market share for Indonesian kretek exports, amounting to US$ 117.77 million (25.2%), and Japan was the largest market share for cigarettes and other cigars, with a value of US$ 44.62 million (55.83%).
