West Sumatra Province recorded a total export volume of 359,110 tons in November 2024. For exports categorized by SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) code 85, shoes and other footwear, exports from the province in November 2024 decreased to 10.76 million tons.
This decline in export value contributed to a decrease in foreign exchange reserves and the total export value, which had previously been on an upward trend for the past five months. According to Bank Indonesia (BI) records, in the same period the previous year, exports from this province were recorded at 12.49 million tons.
West Sumatra's import customs documents recorded 20 groups of goods exported from the province. These goods are grouped into 2-digit SITC codes. The group with the highest export volume was SITC code 66, non-metallic mineral products.
Over the past 14 months, the highest export volume from West Sumatra was recorded in September 2024 at 16.47 million tons, while the lowest was in July 2024 at 3.17 million tons.
