The total value of goods trade in ASEAN in 2018, in ascending order from lowest to highest, was: Brunei Darussalam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore. Singapore had export value of US$412 billion and import value of US$371 billion.
Indonesia, ranked 5th in the region, reported export value of US$180 billion and import value of US$205.5 billion. Many goods were exported to China (14.3%), Japan (10.3%), and India (7.4%). Meanwhile, Indonesia imported many goods from China (24.3%), Singapore (13.8%), and Japan (8.8%).
The most demanded goods categories from Indonesia were coal briquettes (11.2%), palm oil (8.5%), petroleum gas (5.5%), crude oil (2.8%), and rubber (2.2%). The goods categories most diverted domestically were petroleum products (8.9%), crude oil (4.6%), vehicle parts (2.1%), telephones (1.9%), and wheat (1.3%).
