Singapore, Indonesia's Top Tin Export Destination

Tin is one of Indonesia's major natural resources. According to the Mineral Commodity Summaries published by the U.S. Geological Survey in January 2021, Indonesia was the world's second-largest tin producer in 2020, with a production of 66,000 tons.

Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that the value of national tin exports from January to December 2021 reached US$2.44 billion, or approximately Rp321.27 trillion.

This figure surged by 116.11% compared to sales in the same period the previous year, which amounted to US$1.13 billion, or approximately Rp162 trillion.

Meanwhile, the volume of Indonesian tin exports reached 75.53 million kg. This volume increased by 14.11% compared to exports in the same period of 2020, which totaled 66.19 million kg.

3. South Korea

Volume: 8,870,963 kg
Value: US$ 280,879,417

4. Japan

Volume: 8,049,727 kg
Value: US$ 254,149,284

5. India

Volume: 7,889,100 kg
Value: US$ 257,083,007

Several provinces in Indonesia are known as tin centers, including Belitung Island (Bangka Belitung Islands), Bakinang (Riau Islands), Sungai Liat (Bangka Island), Dabo (Singkep Island), and Muntok (Belitung Island).
