East Kalimantan Province recorded a total export volume of 22.56 million tons in January 2025. Meanwhile, exports of manufactured chemical fertilizers (SITC code 56 – Standard International Trade Classification) in the province decreased to 21.09 million tons in January 2025.
This decline in export value contributed to a decrease in foreign exchange reserves and the total export value, which had previously been on an upward trend for the past five months. According to Bank Indonesia (BI) records, exports from this province in the same period the previous year were recorded at 173.5 million tons.
East Kalimantan's import customs documents recorded 18 groups of goods exported from the province. These goods are grouped into 2-digit SITC codes. The group with the highest export volume is SITC code 32: coal, coke, and briquettes.
Over the past 16 months, the highest export volume from East Kalimantan was recorded in August 2024 at 183.07 million tons, while the lowest was in January 2024 at 2.2 million tons.
