Proposed Levy for Foreign Tourists Entering Bali

The government plans to impose a levy on foreign tourists arriving in Bali of Rp150,000 or US$10 starting February 14, 2024.

According to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno, the levy will be used for cultural preservation and waste management in Bali.

"So this is not a tax, but a levy for foreign tourists entering or visiting Bali. Our goal is to provide incentives for Bali's tourism, so that those who come are high-quality tourists," said Sandiaga in a press conference titled *The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno*, Monday (2/10/2023).

This foreign tourist levy is planned to be implemented at all entry points to Bali Island, especially at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport and Benoa Harbor.
