According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 1.25 million visits by foreign tourists to Indonesia in April 2026.

The number surged by 14.75% on a monthly basis (month-to-month/mtm). Similarly, on an annual basis, the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia increased by 7.22% (year-on-year/yoy) compared to April 2025.

In April 2026, the majority of foreign tourists entered Indonesia through the main gate, amounting to 1.08 million visits. Then, there were 168,57 thousand visits through border entry points.

Based on their mode of transportation, a total of 889,46 thousand foreign tourists entered Indonesia by air transport; 153,65 thousand visits by sea transport; and 36,97 thousand visits by land transport.

When viewed by nationality, the largest number of foreign tourists came from Malaysia (16.65%), followed by tourists from Australia (12.65%), China (10.73%), and Singapore (8.92%).

Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia throughout January-April 2026 reached 4.68 million people, or an increase of 8.24% (cumulative-to-cumulative/ctc) compared to the same period last year.
