Foreign Tourist Arrivals in Indonesia Increased in July 2025

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there were 1.48 million visits from foreign tourists to Indonesia in July 2025.

The number increased by 4.62% month-to-month (mtm) and grew by 13.01% year-on-year (yoy).

The majority of foreign tourists in July 2025 entered Indonesia through main entry points, totaling 1.30 million visits. Another 177,614 visits were through border crossings.

Based on the mode of transportation, 1.10 million foreign tourists entered Indonesia by air; 162,092 by sea; and 40,021 by land.

In July 2025, the most foreign tourists came from Malaysia (14.32%), followed by Australia (11.69%), China (9.76%), Singapore (7.71%), and Timor Leste (6.13%).

BPS also recorded that the average length of stay for foreign tourists in Indonesia in July 2025 was 10.52 nights. This duration increased compared to July 2024, which was only 8.10 nights.

Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourists visits to Indonesia from January to July 2025 reached 8.53 million people. This figure increased by 10.04% (cumulative-to-cumulative/ctc) compared to the same period last year. This is also the highest achievement since the 2020 pandemic.
