Indonesia Has the Slowest Mobile Internet in Southeast Asia

The Speedtest Global Index reports that Indonesia's mobile internet speed was 21.35 Mbps in July 2021. Compared to other Southeast Asian countries, Indonesia has the slowest mobile internet speed.

Indonesia ranked 110th globally in mobile internet speed. This represents a six-place drop from its previous ranking of 104th.

Singapore had the fastest mobile internet speed in Southeast Asia, reaching 85.93 Mbps. Globally, Singapore's mobile internet speed ranked 18th.

Brunei Darussalam followed with a mobile internet speed of 59.34 Mbps. Brunei climbed six places to 36th globally.

Thailand and Vietnam had mobile internet speeds of 48.89 Mbps and 42.46 Mbps, respectively. Thailand ranked 51st globally, while Vietnam ranked 58th.

The July 2021 Speedtest Global Index report included mobile internet networks in 139 countries. The global average download speed was 55.07 Mbps and the upload speed was 12.35 Mbps.
