Numerous food delivery applications (online food delivery/OFD) have proliferated in Indonesia in recent years. Various promotions and advantages are offered by OFD applications to compete for consumers.

Research by Tenggara Strategics shows that the majority of Indonesian consumers have more than one food delivery application on their phones. This percentage reaches 72%, or 7 out of 10 consumers in Indonesia.

Specifically, 41% of domestic consumers have more than two food delivery applications on their phones. Furthermore, 31% of consumers have two food delivery applications on their phones.

Meanwhile, only 28% of consumers have one food delivery application on their phones.

The survey also indicates several factors influencing consumer choices in selecting food delivery applications. These factors include convenience, menu variety, and transaction security.

As a result, GoFood is the most popular choice among consumers due to its superiority in these three factors. GrabFood is ranked second, followed by ShopeeFood in third place.

This research involved 1,200 respondents aged 17 and above residing in Jabodetabek, Medan, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, and Solo. Respondents used OFD services at least once in the last three months.

This survey employed random sampling with face-to-face interviews conducted from January 10-14, 2022, with a margin of error of approximately 2.8%.
