Consumers Prioritize On-Time Delivery Services When Shopping Online

Research by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) in collaboration with Sirclo shows that 89.5% of Indonesian consumers prefer regular shipping services when shopping online. Several reasons explain consumers' preference for regular shipping.

The majority, or 61.8% of respondents, chose regular shipping services because of their timeliness. 48.5% of respondents selected regular shipping due to lower prices.

Furthermore, 47.1% of respondents could track their shipments. 41.5% chose regular shipping because of its wide reach.

41.4% of respondents opted for regular shipping because of discounts or free shipping promotions. 35.1% chose regular shipping because of the friendly couriers.

Additionally, 34.2% of respondents selected regular shipping because their goods were well-protected, 28.7% due to positive reviews or recommendations from other users, and 19.4% because the couriers adhered to health protocols. Meanwhile, 5.4% of respondents chose regular shipping due to emergencies requiring same-day or next-day delivery.

This research involved 4,590 respondents across Indonesia aged 17 and above with internet access. Conducted from August 24-28, 2021, the majority of respondents belonged to socioeconomic groups B and C.
