Grab's Revenue Soared 132% in Q2 2021

Grab reported revenue of US$180 million, or approximately Rp2.55 trillion, in the second quarter of 2021 (using an exchange rate of US$1 = Rp14,182). This figure represents a 132% year-on-year (YoY) increase compared to the US$77 million recorded in the same period last year.

Grab's revenue was predominantly driven by its mobility services, such as Grab Bike and Grab Car, which reached US$118 million. This amount showed a 129% YoY growth.

Revenue from delivery services reached US$45 million, a 92% YoY increase. Meanwhile, Grab's enterprise and financial services generated US$11 million and US$6 million, respectively.

Grab's gross merchandise value (GMV) increased by 62% YoY to US$3.9 billion. This was partly due to the surge in demand for GrabExpress (delivery services) and GrabFood (food delivery), which saw a 58% increase. Ride-hailing orders also increased by 93%.

To date, Grab operates in over 400 cities across eight Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
