Based on the 2023 World Ultra Wealth Report, Altrata has released a list of countries with the highest number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) in 2022.
These UHNWIs have individual net worths exceeding US$30 million or Rp472.35 billion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp15,745 per US$).
The United States (US) had the highest number of UHNWIs, with 129,665 individuals in 2022. Their accumulated wealth totaled US$15.053 trillion.
However, Altrata calculated a 4.3% year-on-year (YoY) decrease in the number of UHNWIs compared to the previous year.
China followed in second place with 47,190 UHNWIs, a 7.1% YoY decrease. Their accumulated wealth reached US$5.31 trillion.
Germany ranked third with 19,590 UHNWIs, down 9.3% YoY, and accumulated wealth of US$2.31 trillion.
Japan was fourth with 14,940 UHNWIs, experiencing a significant 21.9% YoY decrease. The accumulated wealth of UHNWIs in Japan reached US$1.41 trillion.
The United Kingdom ranked fifth with 14,005 UHNWIs, a 9.2% YoY decrease, and accumulated wealth of US$1.42 trillion.
Altrata noted that almost all countries experienced a decline in their ultra-wealthy population.
The countries included in Altrata's report represent three-quarters of the global ultra-wealthy population. The research team believes this mapping can be valuable for companies or organizations targeting this demographic.

3. Germany: 19,590 individuals (US$2.31 trillion)
4. Japan: 14,940 individuals (US$1.41 trillion)
5. United Kingdom: 14,005 individuals (US$1.42 trillion)
6. Canada: 13,320 individuals (US$1.41 trillion)
7. Hong Kong: 12,615 individuals (US$1.50 trillion)
8. France: 11,980 individuals (US$1.29 trillion)
9. Italy: 8,930 individuals (US$987 billion)
10. India: 8,880 individuals (US$1.14 trillion)
