Indonesia's Mobile Internet Access Ranks 4th Globally

Indonesia is one of the world's largest countries in terms of mobile internet users. According to data from WeAreSocial.net, more than 69 percent of Indonesians access the internet via their mobile devices—the fourth highest globally. Nigeria holds the top spot with approximately 81 percent, followed by India and South Africa at 79 and 78 percent respectively. Globally, the average mobile internet usage is only 50 percent.

This high figure demonstrates Indonesia's widespread mobile device usage. Beyond communication, these devices are frequently used to access the internet, from social media to online shopping. This aligns with the high penetration rate of smartphones. Currently, Indonesia is the fourth largest active smartphone user globally, after China, India, and the United States.
