The music streaming service Spotify announced a price increase for its premium subscription packages worldwide, including Indonesia. This decision was announced on its official website on Monday, July 24, 2023.
"To continue innovating, we are changing our premium prices. This update will help us continue to deliver the best experience for fans and artists on our platform," said Spotify management in a statement.
This Spotify Premium price increase was also mentioned in Spotify's earnings report released in April 2023. In the report, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek stated that the company was prepared to raise subscription prices.
Users currently subscribed to the Spotify Premium package will be informed via email and given a two-month grace period before the new prices take effect. Users can also cancel their subscription before the grace period ends.
The price increase for new Spotify Premium subscribers took effect on July 24, 2023, while for existing premium subscribers, it will take effect in September 2023.
