Smartphones, or as they're known in Indonesia, *gawai pintar*, from South Korean manufacturer Samsung, captured a 22.5% global market share in the first quarter of 2023. This finding was reported by the International Data Corporation (IDC).

Samsung's market share actually decreased from 23.7% in the first quarter of 2022. Despite this decline, no other smartphone brand has managed to surpass Samsung.

Apple, for example, remained in second place with a market share of 20.5%, an increase from 18% in the first quarter of 2022.
