The Institute for Management Development (IMD) scored the digital competitiveness of 63 countries in 2022.

From the 63 countries studied, *Databoks* compiled those belonging to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Singapore topped the list as the country with the best digital competitiveness in ASEAN, scoring 99.48 out of 100 points. This achievement placed Singapore 4th globally.

Next is Malaysia, which scored 76.42 points, placing it 31st globally.

Then there's Thailand, with a score of 68.19 points, ranking 40th globally.

Following is Indonesia, which only scored 56.74 points. This score, almost half of Singapore's, placed Indonesia 51st globally.

Lastly, the Philippines, which obtained a score of 52.81 points, ranked 56th out of 63 countries, not far from Indonesia.

It should be noted that not all ASEAN countries were studied by the IMD.

The IMD stated that this ranking highlights the crucial role of the state in explaining the digital transformation of companies and the adoption of digital practices by society.

"A digital nation is produced from a combination of digital talent, digital regulation, data governance, digital attitudes, and capital availability," wrote the IMD in its report.

The survey was conducted on 63 countries. The ranking methodology was assessed from three main sectors: knowledge, technology, and future readiness. These sectors were further divided into 54 criteria or indicators.
