Jakarta, the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, recorded the highest e-Government score in 2015 and successfully maintained its position for two consecutive years. With a score of 3.39, Jakarta outperformed other provinces. West Java, which topped the ranking in 2013, had to settle for second place with a score of 3.07. East Java followed in third place, also with a score of 3.07.
This result indicates that Jakarta has performed well in implementing technology-based governance and policy-making. This facilitates access to government information and services for citizens, particularly those in Jakarta, enabling faster access.
The implementation of e-Government is expected to enhance transparency within government institutions and support more efficient governance by improving communication between the government, the public, and the business and industrial sectors. The e-Government assessment is divided into five dimensions: planning, policy, institutional framework, infrastructure, and applications. The assessment results are expressed as a score on a scale of 0 to 4.
