The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) reported that the realization of social assistance spending (bansos) from the beginning of this year until the end of February 2024 reached Rp22.5 trillion.
"Our social assistance budget has surged sharply from Rp9.6 trillion last year to Rp22.5 trillion, or a 135.1% increase compared to the previous year," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani during a working meeting with Commission XI of the DPR RI on Tuesday (19/3/2024).
She stated that the largest amount of social assistance spending was channeled through the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), amounting to Rp12.8 trillion, for the Family Hope Program (PKH) for 10 million beneficiary families (KPM) and the Sembako Card for 18.7 million KPM.
Furthermore, social assistance was disbursed through the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) worth Rp7.7 trillion, for Health Insurance Contribution Assistance (PBI JKN) to 96.7 million participants.
Then, the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) disbursed social assistance of Rp1.1 trillion for the Smart Indonesia Program (PIP) assistance to 1.4 million students and the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) for 11,100 students.
Next, social assistance was channeled through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) amounting to Rp900 billion, for PIP for one thousand students and KIP Kuliah for 105,100 students.
Finally, social assistance was disbursed through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) worth Rp800 billion for emergency disaster response.
