Global AI Market Growth Projections: Machine Learning Leads

According to a report by the Center for Economic and Law Studies (Celios), the market for artificial intelligence (AI)-related technologies is projected to grow significantly over the next few years.

The AI technology with the greatest potential for growth is machine learning, whose market size is estimated to jump from US$49.54 billion in 2020 to US$503.40 billion in 2030.

"This demonstrates the dominance of machine learning as a core technology driving the adoption of AI in various sectors, including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing," said Celios in its 2025 Digital Economy Outlook.

"This substantial increase reflects the growing need for complex data analysis and business process automation," he continued.

The natural language processing (NLP) category of AI technology is also expected to grow significantly, with a market size increase from US$13.38 billion in 2020 to US$156.80 billion in 2030.

While the market size of AI categories such as robotics, autonomous & sensor technology, and computer vision is estimated to be smaller, all of them are showing positive growth, as seen in the chart.

According to Celios, these various AI technologies could displace traditional jobs by replacing repetitive manual tasks, while also opening up new employment opportunities in software development, data science, and big data analysis.

"To face these changes, countries, including Indonesia, must prepare their workforce through retraining and skills enhancement to compete in the era of digital transformation," said Celios.
