According to Similarweb data, ChatGPT dominates the generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) market. However, its market share has decreased in the past year.

Gen AI is an artificial intelligence technology that can create content such as text, images, videos, audio, or software code based on user requests.

In September 2024, ChatGPT managed to capture 88.81% of the total visits to Gen AI sites globally. Then in September 2025, ChatGPT's share dropped to 76.01%.
