Various Challenges Faced by Roblox Creators in Indonesia

According to a survey by Access Partnership, game content creators on Roblox in Indonesia face various challenges in developing their creations.

The main obstacles are limited access to funding and training.

In full, here is a list of challenges faced by Roblox creators in Indonesia:  

• Limited access to funding or capital: 47% of respondents
• Limited access to training or skill-enhancement opportunities: 36%
• High platform fees or monetization barriers: 34%
• Visibility in local or global markets: 33%
• Difficulty protecting or managing intellectual property rights: 31%
• Difficulty recruiting or retaining skilled talent: 31%
• Lack of affordable game development tools or software: 30%
• Limited access to infrastructure or hardware for game hosting and publishing: 28%
• Difficulty navigating regulations or permits: 25%

Notably, this survey used a multiple answer method, where each respondent could choose three answers.

Access Partnership conducted this survey among 202 Roblox creators across Indonesia. Respondents consisted of content creators who were both eligible and ineligible for the Roblox Developer Exchange program.

The majority, or 75%, of respondents were aged 18-34 years, followed by 23% aged 35-49 years, and 1% aged 50-64 years.

Data collection was carried out during August-September 2025. This survey has a margin of error of approximately 10% with a 95% confidence level.
