ASEAN Mobile Internet Speed August 2025: Brunei Takes the Lead

The Speedtest Global Index released a list of mobile internet speeds in Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN) in August 2025.

Brunei Darussalam ranked first in ASEAN with a median mobile internet download speed of 184.86 megabits per second (Mbps).

This achievement also placed Brunei 9th globally, up three places from the previous month.

Meanwhile, Indonesia lagged behind in 8th place in ASEAN, with a median mobile internet download speed of only 45.01 Mbps.

1. Brunei Darussalam: 184.86 Mbps

2. Singapore: 164.75 Mbps

3. Vietnam: 152.17 Mbps

4. Malaysia: 143.56 Mbps

5. Thailand: 124.33 Mbps

6. Philippines: 59.64 Mbps

7. Cambodia: 53.58 Mbps

8. Indonesia: 45.01 Mbps

9. Laos: 42.94 Mbps

Globally, the median mobile internet download speed in August 2025 reached 90.69 Mbps.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) topped the rankings with a median download speed of 614.42 Mbps, almost 7 times faster than the global median.
