Xiaomi Leads Smartphone Shipments in Indonesia in Q2 2025

According to a Counterpoint report, Indonesia's smartphone shipments in Q2 2025 decreased by 7% year-on-year (YoY).

“Demand during the holiday season was weaker than in previous years, influenced by more cautious consumer spending amid economic uncertainty,” said Counterpoint Research Associate Ridwan Kusuma in his report on Tuesday (September 2, 2025).

In the second quarter of this year, Xiaomi led smartphone shipments in Indonesia with a 21% market share, a 10% YoY increase. This achievement was reached for two consecutive quarters.

"Xiaomi maintained its position in the entry-level segment while gradually expanding its presence in the mid-range and premium segments, supported by competitive pricing and consistent promotions," wrote Counterpoint.

Samsung ranked second with a 20% market share, up 20% YoY in Q2 2025. The South Korean brand's growth was driven by competitive trade-in programs and installment options.

Next was Oppo with a 16% market share, down 14% YoY. Followed by Vivo with a 13% share, down 29% YoY, and Infinix with 10%, down 5% YoY.

Meanwhile, shipments from other smartphone brands reached an 18% market share, a 19.8% YoY correction.

In addition, Counterpoint Senior Research Analyst Shilpi Jain stated that Indonesia's macroeconomic situation is starting to show recovery, marked by adjustments to Trump tariffs and additional government incentives.

“We expect the situation to improve throughout the year, and the Indonesian smartphone market is expected to grow in the second half of 2025,” she said.
