According to a Cube Asia survey, Instagram was the most widely used social media platform by Indonesian consumers in 2025.

Of the 400 Indonesians aged 18 and above surveyed, the proportion of Instagram users reached 92%.

The next most popular social media platforms were Facebook with 90% user proportion, TikTok with 87%, YouTube with 81%, X with 61%, and LinkedIn with 28%.

"Instagram leads social media in Indonesia, far exceeding the Southeast Asian average," Cube Asia stated in its report, E-Commerce Influencer Marketing in Southeast Asia 2025.

This trend differs somewhat from that found in neighboring countries.

In Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, the most widely used social media platform is Facebook. In Singapore and Vietnam, YouTube holds the top position.

Cube Asia also found that Southeast Asian respondents generally accessed social media for entertainment (77%), learning new things (64%), seeking lifestyle inspiration (62%), and looking for product recommendations for shopping (58%).
