Speedtest Global Index data shows that in May 2025, the median global mobile internet download speed reached 92.83 megabits per second (Mbps).

The fastest median mobile internet download speed in the world was in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), at 539.84 Mbps, approximately six times the global median.

Also from the Middle East, Qatar and Kuwait followed, with mobile internet download speeds of 529.34 Mbps and 350.89 Mbps respectively.

1. United Arab Emirates (UAE): 539.84 Mbps

2. Qatar: 529.34 Mbps

3. Kuwait: 350.89 Mbps

4. Bahrain: 245.67 Mbps

5. Bulgaria: 232.79 Mbps

6. Brazil: 222.02 Mbps

7. China: 209.31 Mbps

8. South Korea: 208.07 Mbps

9. Denmark: 202.67 Mbps

10. Saudi Arabia: 196.28 Mbps

Meanwhile, Indonesia ranked 85th globally with a median mobile internet download speed of only 40.61 Mbps.

The Speedtest Global Index compares internet speed data worldwide and its data is updated monthly. The data in this index comes from tests using more than 10,000 servers spread across approximately 190 countries.
