Katadata reported that Bukalapak announced the closure of its e-commerce business on Tuesday (7/1/2025). Buyers can still shop until February 9, 2025.
"We would like to inform you that Bukalapak will undergo a transformation in an effort to increase its focus on virtual products. As part of this strategic step, we will cease operations for the sale of physical products on the Bukalapak marketplace," Bukalapak said on its official website on Tuesday (7/1).
"We fully understand that this change will impact Pelapak's business, and we are committed to making this transition process as smooth as possible," Bukalapak added.
Bukalapak has also prepared guidelines and steps for merchants during the transition process, such as withdrawing balances and refunds, and downloading transaction data or sales history.
The deactivation of new product uploads will take effect from February 1st. Pelapak will not be able to add new products after this period. The completion of order management is encouraged before the end of the marketplace's operation to avoid automatic cancellation of unfulfilled orders.
All unprocessed orders until March 2nd, 23:59 WIB will be automatically cancelled by the system. Funds from cancelled orders will be returned to the buyer via BukaDompet.
