A JakPat survey reveals that the majority, or 31%, of Indonesian Gen Z respondents consume coffee 1-2 times a week.
Next, 19% drink coffee once a day, 12% drink it 2-3 times a day, and another 12% drink it 3-4 times a week.
Furthermore, 4% of Gen Z respondents drink coffee more than 3 times a day. Meanwhile, 22% of respondents reported not consuming coffee.
"The most suitable time for 33% of Gen Z to drink coffee is when it starts to get dark, between 6 PM and 9 PM," JakPat wrote in its report titled *Gen Z Characteristics and Behaviors*.
Regarding coffee types, the majority, or 57%, of Gen Z prefer instant coffee with various flavors, such as cappuccino.
Then, 38% of Gen Z consume plain instant coffee without added sugar, creamer, or milk. This is followed by coffee from cafes (35%), ready-to-drink coffee (27%), and street coffee (20%).
This JakPat survey involved 1,155 Gen Z respondents (born between 1997 and 2012). The respondents consisted of 50% women and 50% men.
Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (44%), Jabodetabek (28%), and outside Java (28%).
The survey was conducted online via the JakPat application from December 6-9, 2024, with a margin of error below 5%.
