Top 10 Television-Watching Countries of 2024: Is Indonesia on the List?

According to Data Reportal, in October 2024, internet users aged 16 and above globally spent an average of 188 minutes (3 hours and 8 minutes) per day watching television.

During this period, the United States had the longest average television viewing time, at 285 minutes (4 hours and 45 minutes) per day.

Indonesia ranked 43rd globally. The average Indonesian internet user spent 157 minutes (2 hours and 37 minutes) per day watching television.

Below is a list of the top 10 countries with the longest average daily television viewing times in the world in October 2024:

1. United States: 285 minutes (4 hours 45 minutes)
2. South Africa: 256 minutes (4 hours 16 minutes)
3. Brazil: 244 minutes (4 hours 4 minutes)
4. United Kingdom: 238 minutes (3 hours 58 minutes)
5. Egypt: 236 minutes (3 hours 56 minutes)
6. Mexico: 229 minutes (3 hours 49 minutes)
7. Argentina: 227 minutes (3 hours 47 minutes)
8. Bulgaria: 226 minutes (3 hours 46 minutes)
9. Chile: 225 minutes (3 hours 45 minutes)

Data Reportal also noted that globally, internet users aged 65 and above watched more television than younger age groups.

Women aged 65 and above watched an average of 236 minutes (4 hours 23 minutes) of television per day, while men over 65 spent 256 minutes (4 hours 16 minutes) per day watching television.
