Discounts and Cashback: The Most Popular Promotions During Ramadan 2018

According to a Snapcart survey, 66% of e-commerce buyers utilized promotions during Ramadan 2018. The most preferred type of promotion was a special Ramadan discount, chosen by 29% of respondents. This was followed by cashback (19%), flash sales (18%), and free shipping (16%).

Furthermore, limited-time price discounts on specific dates and ranges, special Ramadan bonuses, and special Ramadan packages were also popular promotional choices among e-commerce buyers.

The same survey also revealed that 60% of respondents used their Hari Raya (THR) allowances for shopping. Moreover, e-commerce platforms were the dominant shopping choice, with 91% of respondents opting for this method. One reason cited for choosing e-commerce was the abundance of promotions during Ramadan and the upcoming holidays.

This survey was conducted from April 16-23, 2019, involving 1000 respondents across Indonesia. The majority of respondents (53.8%) resided in the Jabodetabek area. In terms of gender, 56.7% of respondents were female and 43.3% were male.
