Indonesia's E-commerce Transaction Value Projected to Reach US$137.5 Billion in 2025

Indonesia's e-commerce market is projected to be a major growth contributor in the Asia Pacific region. According to RedSeer analysis, Indonesia's e-commerce market is projected to reach US$137.5 billion in 2025.

This transaction value represents a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25.3% from the 2020 achievement of US$44.6 billion. RedSeer also projects Indonesia's e-commerce transaction value to reach US$67.4 billion in 2021.

In 2022, the transaction value is projected to be US$86 billion. This will further increase to US$104 billion in 2023 and US$121 billion in 2024.

In its analysis, RedSeer identifies four factors supporting the growth of Indonesia's e-commerce market: a consumption-based economy, a young demographic, a growing digital economy, and consumer desire for convenience.

Indonesia's e-commerce transaction value will also be the largest in the Asia Pacific region. With an estimated US$137.5 billion in 2025, this means Indonesia will account for 59% of the total Asia Pacific transaction value of US$231 billion.
