Not Shopee, Tokopedia Wins Most Popular E-commerce in Q2 2021

Tokopedia dominated Indonesian website traffic for two consecutive quarters. Tokopedia's monthly web visits reached 147.8 million in Q2 2021, a 9.4% increase from the previous quarter's 135.1 million visits.

Tokopedia also surpassed Shopee, the reigning champion from Q4 2019 to Q4 2020. Shopee's monthly web visits totaled 127 million, a slight 0.3% decrease from the previous quarter's 127.4 million.

However, Tokopedia's ranking on the App Store and Play Store still lags behind Shopee. Tokopedia is ranked second on the App Store and fourth on the Play Store.

Compared to other e-commerce platforms, there's a significant disparity in visitor numbers. Bukalapak is in third place with 29.5 million visits, followed by Lazada with 27.7 million and Blibli with 18.4 million.

This is followed by Bhinneka with 7 million, Orami with 6.3 million, and Ralali with 5.1 million. JD ID and Zalora are next with 3.8 million and 3.4 million visits respectively.

E-commerce has helped people meet their needs during the Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM). People can shop without leaving their homes, thus helping to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
