Based on a survey conducted by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), there was an increase in the frequency of information sharing on WhatsApp in 2021 compared to 2020.

This survey was conducted from October 4-24, 2021, involving 10,000 respondents spread across 34 provinces in Indonesia. The respondents were members of the general public, internet users aged 13-70 years.
