APJII Survey: The Internet is Not Safe for Children

Most people believe that the internet is not safe for children. A survey by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) shows that 76.4 percent of internet users share this view. Only 22.9 percent believe the internet is safe for children.

Therefore, APJII Chairman General Jamalul Izza stated that his organization will support a clean, selective, and safe internet and will build a system to filter negative content. Various parties, such as the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo), Densus 88, the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), will be involved in developing this content filtering sensor.

This internet security survey was conducted by APJII on 1,250 randomly selected respondents, with a margin of error of +/- 2.8 percent. Data was collected through questionnaire interviews with a 95 percent confidence level.
